Second trimester!

Yay!! Today is the start of the 2nd trimester!
I decided to post a belly picture today to celebrate ;) I've been taking them every 2 weeks and it's fun to see the progress. It's amazing what a week can do because I grew ALOT from last week!

Today I get to go have a massage! (My b-day present from Wade.) and then we're going to have a picnic at the park with Jon & Sara and maybe Johnny & Dale also.

How I feel...

An older, tired-looking dog wandered into my yard.
I could tell from his collar and well-fed belly that he had a home and was well taken care of.
He calmly came over to me, I gave him a few pats on his head;
he then followed me into my house, slowly walked down the hall, curled up in the corner and fell asleep.

An hour later, he went to the door, and I let him out.

The next day he was back, greeted me in my yard, walked inside and resumed his spot in the hall and again slept for about an hour. This continued off and on for several weeks.

Curious I pinned a note to his collar: 'I would like to find out who the owner of this wonderful sweet dog is and ask if you are aware that almost every afternoon your dog comes to my house for a nap.'
The next day he arrived for his nap, with a different note pinned to his collar: 'He lives in a home with 6 children, 2 under the age of 3 - he's trying to catch up on his sleep. Can I come with him tomorrow?'
(An email I got today ;) )

An unplanned vacation

But not really unexpected though. Just from the way things were going, we had an idea that this might be happening again.
We got the news yesterday that our company is doing a 8 week layoff. It was just about 7 weeks ago that Wade got back from a 6 week layoff. I was unaffected last time, but this time I'll have to have at least one week a month and maybe a day every other week off.
If Wade thought he was going crazy with 6 weeks off.. Lol!
Oh well, I'm just thankful that so far, we both have jobs to come back to. Our thoughts go out to those who have been laid off from their jobs permanently.

Happy Birthday Emily!!

Mom posted this picture on her blog, so I had to steal it :) I don't know how old Em & I were here, but I love the picture. She's my cousin and my longest and closest friend.
Happy 23rd Birthday, old woman. Only 7 more years until you're 30. ;) I love you!!!!
(And I doubt you'll even see this! LOL!)

Little helper

Jessi loves to go outside whenever possible. Her latest "project" is helping Wade in the garden. Every morning when we leave she points it out to me and tells me that she helps Daddy there.

Chilling out after a hard day's work
You can see the square where we originally had our garden planned (Since last fall!)... we decided we should call the "ND one call" to have them come out and mark where power & gas lines are in our yard before we went and dug it up. Well, a line goes through, right about where Wade now has those landscaping markers. So now he's working on moving the garden over and re-planting grass on the other part.

Baby!!

After a very nasty scare starting Sunday, we were finally able to get in yesterday for an ultrasound to make sure everything was fine. The waiting was horrible.
When the U/S tech took us back she asked us if we were just there for a regular u/s and I said yes.. I didn't want to tell her that we were in because of complications because I didn't want her to think she had to go through the Dr. first and not hear anything right away. I wanted to know now!

Well, as soon as she started we could see the little peanut and she said "Oh wow, look at it move! It's very active!" We were SO relieved! Baby was sitting there wiggling away! Heartbeat was 170 She said it's usually that high right now because baby's doing so much growing right now. Baby was measuring right at 9 weeks and I'm 9 weeks today so it's right on. You could see the little arms and legs that are growing. It's amazing what 3 weeks can do.. we had a 6 week u/s with Jessi and she just looked like a little bean then :)

I do have a cyst on my ovary, so that was causing one of the pains I was feeling. I suspected that because I've had a cyst before so I recognized that pain. The other pain, not so much.

I just got off the phone with the nurse and she said it seems like I had a "threatened miscarrage" but that everything looks just fine now.
