Seriously ?? (HFCS... AGAIN!!)

http://www.usatoday.com/news/health/2009-01-27-corn-syrup_N.htm
Study: High-fructose corn syrup contains mercury!

Amazing.

But it makes me wonder... Why is this such a big deal, but injecting our children with vaxes that contain mercury isn't??

Oh, they've got me going now!!!
I really like this part:
"On average, Americans consume about 12 teaspoons per day of high-fructose corn syrup, but teens and other high consumers can take in 80% more than average."

That sounds very strange to me! I hope it isn't really the case. And, now, I am not trying to be contrary - but I have had discussions with my dr about vaccines and he has told me/shown me that they are not using this preservative with mercury in it anymore. That has been phased out. So I have vaccinated my kids with a clear conscience. That said, I believe that there is something to the thot that mercury in vaccines did cause problems for some. But I do appreciate your posts abt natural stuff, Dalayna, becuz I am learning some useful things.

arrrrrrrrrggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh!

This is me pulling my hair out of my head.

Our govt/fda just doesn't get it! HFCS is fed to our children like it's no big deal. What are they trying to do kill us all off slowly? No! They just want to make us sick so that they can sell us more things like vaccines, antidepressants, ect....The bottom line is if they kill us slowly with our own food supply they can make a buck while we are dying....just shove a pill or poke us with a needle.

But, Then some of us got smart. We've told them they where they can stick their 'miracale' (?sp) vaccines, and their pathetic foods that they approve for our children.

They have tried to tell us how canning our own foods isn't safe. How looking at alternitives to modern medicine just isn't safe. Somehow if we don't just get in bed with the govt/fda we are the bad people who are risking our children.

You know I haven't vaccinated my kids. I do not regret that. The thing that makes me the maddest is that I have had to sign some form that gets sent to the state that says I realize I am making a 'negligent' decsion by not vaccinating my kids, and that should they contact one of these diseases and die I will willingly go to jail.

How do I combat this? By asking myself, "why do I take my healthy children to a 'sick' doctors office so they can look at them and tell me "yep, they are healthy!" While the simple act of taking them to that sick office exposes them to all kinds of crap they wouldn't have otherwise been exposed to?

Don't get me wrong; modern medicine has a place. If I get my arm ripped off please take me to the nearest hospital and sew my arm back on.

However, we need to wake up! Just because the govt/fda says something is safe or good for us doesn't mean it is. In fact is probably isn't.

Sorry to get on a rant here but there are just certain things that really push my buttons. HFCS and vaccines happen to be 2 of them.

LOL@ Jeanette! ITA!
@ Lanae - Most vaccines only contain trace amounts of mercury now, so that's "good enough" to be considered mercury free. Unfortunately, they do contain lots of other yucky stuff instead/too... formaldehyde being one of them!
Not saying you shouldn't vaccinate - obviously it's something every parent needs to research before making a decision!

Lanae, you're right, they did quit putting mercury itself in vaccines, which is great. When I was posting this, I was actually thinking of thimerosal. (There are thimerosal free vax's out there- you just have to ask for them.)

But, There are traces amount of mercury from the manufacturing process itself. Traces that are just as toxic and deadly. Also, mercury can be used as a trade secret ingredient, meaning it does not have to be disclosed on the ingredients list.

I discovered that in my own reserch, and my Dr. confirmed it to me. She does alot of reaserch on vaxes for herself because she has a special needs child and they have to be very careful of what he gets.

I think it's great that you asked your dr. about it. Most people don't. I think it's a choice every parent needs to make for themselves and I think it's great that you informed yourself!

Here's a ingredient list of vaxes if anybody is wondering.

Haha, sorry that was long!! Anyways, this post was really about the HFCS, not vaccines :)

kinda turned into a comment section on vaccines, tho! i was thinking of thimerosal myself, and have made a point of asking for vaccines free of those/refusing any that are not. for myself, i find it more of a risky proposition to leave my kids vulnerable to these diseases - but i understand/respect the principles of those who choose not to vaccinate. i don't think i am stupid/uninformed because i do believe vaccinations help more than hurt my kids, either. and also, it's not like i swallow everything the govt/fda says either!!as far as hfcs goes, well, i don't want to eat too much stuff that has it in it....anyway, enough from me, esp. since i seem to be the devil's advocate here & that's not the role i want!:p

Lanae, I don't think you're the devil's advocate here at all!

See, while I have a problem with vaccines for themselves, I don't have a problem with anybody that chooses to vaccinate. That's their choice, and who am I to judge that? Just like *I* feel like I'm doing what I feel is best for *my* child, You're doing what you feel is best for your child.

And honestly, I appricate that you'd say what you feel is best. We all make our own choices, and we should feel like we can talk about those choices.

I acutally enjoy conversations with people who don't have the same views as I do. Who know's what we'll learn from other people.
As long as it doesn't turn into a "you're a horrible parent, you know nothing, blah blah blah."

And I just hope you know that I'm not "saying" any of that stuff about you.

Anyways, that's why this subject us so tough to talk about. I hate to feel like I might offend somebody or anything.

Lol, I hope I got that across right :)

I really didn't mean to offend anyone. I just get so frustrated with the govt/fda.

Each parent has to do what they feel is best for their children.

I am very passionate about this subject....but before I make anyone else mad, I will get the duct tape and shut my (internet) mouth.

oh no, you got that across fine! no, i don't go around thinking people who do things differently in raising their kids than i do are bad/negligent parents or whatever, and i appreciate other people having that same viewpoint toward me! people who get extreme enough abt their viewpoints that they think others are all wrong, that I don't like - arguing I don't like. but discussions, those are fine; even if we don't change each others' minds, we can still learn something. and i think it's absolutely fine for you to post abt issues like this, because at least it raises awareness and gets people thinking, or making some changes! so, keep posting!:)

btw, jeanette, you didn't make me mad or offend me! it's just fine that this is something you feel passionately about. i agree, i don't fully trust govt/fda either!

Lanae, I like your comment up there, I think it's very true about learning things & raising awareness about things.
One of my biggest peeves is people who won't educate themselves about issues that they turn around & complain about or think they have no choice about.
